Explanations

This calculator estimates a fixed-rate loan payment and displays a period-by-period balance schedule. Enter the loan amount, annual interest rate, payment frequency, and either the total number of payments or the number of years.

Enter -1 for the payment amount when you want the calculator to determine the level payment required to amortize the loan over the selected term. You may instead enter a payment amount to see how the balance changes during the requested number of periods.

The calculation covers principal and interest only. Fees, insurance, taxes, and lender-specific rounding or payment rules are not included.
